M is for mom

om

K ladies it's M time...and I couldn't resist a momma post. Yeah...your moms are probably pretty cool...but mine is cooler...way cooler

i think only when you're up at college do you realize just how much they did for you...like the other day i saw a kid with a sack lunch...not only did my tummy shout out a manly growl, but i was sadly reminded how no one makes me lunch anymore. Sure, sometimes she got a bit enthusiastic about jelly in the PB&J...but soggy sandwich or not, she was awesome for doing it every.day. Plus my mom was super cool cuz I was one of those lucky kids who got ding dongs and twinkies in her lunch! Totally makes up for soggy sandwiches ladies!

also my mom has a FAB-ulous sense of style....yeah see this outfit? see that dress, coat, purse and necklace? Yeah- my momma gots taste ladies...she picked all of those out. In fact, I think most of my wardrobe had to be mommy-approved before I felt it looked great.

also also, shes gorgeous and tiny...and has been mistaken for a sister numerous times- awkward but awesome haha

L.O.V.E. you momma :]

L is for laughs

augh

My favorite past-time. I'm convinced that laughing is what gave me my abs- it's true i have them, ask any boy that has punched them! awkward but true, there have been many a man that have punched these suckers...haha mainly because they tell me i'm a sissy, then i tell them to prove it, then they punch my stomach jokingly, then their eyebrows shoot up in surprise, then they punch me again, and then...they're impressed. whose a sissy now? ;]

Anyways today's blog is obsessed with strawberries because i bought strawberries for 88 CENTS!! What the what?! Also...now my fridge and freezer are full of strawberries...which is not a bad thing at all. Those of you who live in Provo, get your tooshes over to the SunFlower Market...it's behind Rubios. And if you don't know where Rubios is, then theres no way you live in Provo.

Back on track now...Sunflower market, its a farmer's market and it is FANtastic. They have organic hippy what not stuff there but the reason i go....ummm hello? cheap fruit and veggies..yes please?! They also have almond milk...which is my milk allergy's and i's best friend. try.it.

p.s. creeper of a photo, Cory was makin me laugh while i was pullin a face...and this is the product. keeper isn't it?
p.p.s. this strawberry is from case number 2. preeeetttyyy sure these strawberries are going to be gone...pronto

K is for kites

ites

i hear the alarm ring. get up thinking today is going to be a nice warm day. Its almost april right?

you.are.so.wrong.celeste.

i open the door and a blast..a blast of frigid cold wind almost knocks me over.
and then all i could think of today as i was staring out my office window, car window, class window, apartment window...i spent a lot of time window staring today ok? because...i just thought, "this would be the perfect day to fly a kite...if it were warm."

and then on my way to class i walked past a motorcycle...that had been blown over. then i really thought...i could have really really flown a kite today. and then walked past it.

dear sun,
where were you today so i could have flown a kite?
sincerely, singing 'lets go fly a kite' in my head all day.

J for jogging

Coat: Park City Outlets Jeans: Pac Sun RainBooties: target
Earrings: Kohls Purse: Kohls Glove: Gift

p.s. awkward last picture haha but i wanted ya'll to see the gloves!

ogging

Alyssa and I have been jogging about two to two and a half miles a day. We jog in an indoor track up at school. I love it because not only does it keep up from being permanent members of the elephant club, but it gives me a lot of time to think. Alyssa and I work out harder when we don't talk so I gotta lotta time to spend time thinking things out.

But the funniest thing is how we run. So Alyssa runs better when she isn't running beside someone, it slows her down. Me...I'm the opposite. I have to have something to measure myself against. If I don't, then I poop out a lot faster and give up. So I figured out a good system to our jogging tradition. After a while Alyssa figured it out haha!

As I was jogging, trying not to think about the imaginary side-ache I was getting...I'm a wimp if I run by myself ok? Anyways...as I was jogging I saw Alyssa up ahead and then BAM it hit me. I was going to be the ultimate creep and just run right behind her. She'd never know the difference and I would keep up because I'm stubborn like that and hate being a sissy.

Needless to say, Alyssa has found out...but thinks its so stinkin funny and just goes with it. I'm sure the regulars at the gym think we're crazies. We show up. Put in headphones. I run stalkerishly behind her the entire time. We leave.

I is for iceblink

ceblink

Yes, its a word...a fabulous word. Seriously...look.it.up. Or just read this definition I copy and pasted...

iceblink: glare in the sky caused by light reflected off ice

Anyways...todays word is iceblink because you know when you want something SO bad that it just puts a "glare" on everything?

O yes ladies, i just did that...pulling the metaphor card.

Totally counts by-the-way.

Thats how I've been feeling with school. I just want me some summer! I want to wear my sun dresses and get a sun hat, take a nap by the pool on a nice HOT day, go on a bike ride,  getting the drift?

Please get me out of school and throw me into summer!

Okay...I'm done. Now I'll write something worthwhile.

So warmer weather is on its way right? That means shiny faces. SO listen...here is a way to keep your makeup lookin F-resh while keeping your pockets filled with green.

Get a small spray bottle and fill it with cold water. Then put about 5 drops of lemon juice. Spray away my friends...but don't get crazy. And you'll look like new!

H is for hair

from Disney's movie Tangled.

air

The four letter word that really makes you want to scream sometimes. Ladies, you know the days. No matter HOW much you mess with your 'do it just don't do itself right. Well this post is a commemoration to that four letter word when you trying to GROW the flippin h*** out.

Hey miss long locks, yes you, I envy you. Do NOT chop the hair off, never ever never. My long locks were chopped off two years ago and I've been missing them ever since and trying to grow it all back out. Few girls can pull of the short hair- dear stinkin cute shorties: I envy you ladies even more.

To my girls hanging up wanted signs for long locks...or girls wanting healthier happy hair:

  1. Try not to wash your hair so often-nasty I know, but it will pay off. This is especially helpful if you live somewhere super dry. Shampooing strips your hairs of its natural oils...and hair+natural oils=love  So girlies love your hair, don't wash it every day. please take a shower, I don't want to be held single handedly responsible for adding to the stinkiness men already give the world. For the first week or so, your hair will be greasier than normal because it is still producing oil at the same rate since you were drying it out with shampoo everyday. But I just had a lot of hat days and working my updo...o was I working it!
  2.  Also, baby powder the crud out of your hair in order to survive the greasiness of the don't-wash-your-hair-everyday-thing. I only open the bottle just a little bit, sprinkle it on the oiliest parts of my hair, and take my fingers and ruff up my hair a bit. Then flip your head upside-down and blow dry. Works like a charm! Sometimes it gets staticy...don't have a panic attack...get a dryer sheet and rub it gently against your head and take a breather. It gets rid of the static. Yes, dryer sheets are not just your dryers friend...they're yours too.
  3. Get a ceramic brush. You can find them at Sally's for like five to six bucks. My cousin introduced me to 'em. Ummmm amazing? I think yes! Not only does it protect the hair- don't ask me how, I'm no Bill Nye- but it also makes it SUPER soft and smooth. go buy one- 'nuff said.
  4. Girls who cry when they see how much hair is on the floor after a "trim"...dry your eyes and get this shampoo. I randomly went into a super spiffy salon- it was Christmas time and they were having a hair product sale! ADD much?-  and talked to one of the stylists for a bit about how bad I wanted to grow out my hair. She told me Joico K Pak reconstruct Shampoo was my friend. What she did NOT tell me was that it was my best friend! Seriously, go try it and the nice thing usually about super nice salons is if you aren't satisfied with the result, you can return it...no questions asked. I love the shampoo! And it really isn't that expensive...I got mine crazy cheap- Christmas sale- but I just looked online and they're abt $25 for the both of them in 10.1 oz bottles.
  5. Biotin: been taking it since January...I think its working. I'm not sure if my hair really is growing faster or just wishful thinking. BUT I will know April 4...haha yes I already have a hair apt. I told my friend that I would definitely come in every 7 weeks if I knew she was expecting me at her salon. I was told by about ten different friends, who are hairdressers, to come in every 6-8 weeks and get a trim if you want to grow out your hair. I'm going to try it and see if it gets me anywhere...so I'll be the guinea pig and let ya'll know. And I'll let you know about the biotin too. I measured at the last haircut, so if I grow more than the average per month...I will not only let you know, but be squealing with joy at the top of my lungs...so guess that includes the rest of the world. These little lungs pack a good amount of gusto!
  6. Heat protectant, get one. I haven't found my favorite one just yet, still looking. The winner so far is the one that CHI does...I still eye it questionably when I see steam coming off my curling iron- sickest feeling ever by-the-way. Any suggestions?
  7. Try not to use hot tools everyday. I have a good range of hairdos I do with just a blow-dryer...I'll take pics/videos  when I survive this week (tests out the wazoo, chance of survival: 40%)
Anyways, I could go on for hours... obsessed about growing out my hair much? Well cutie pattootie shorties and long luscious locks...you just don't understand us lengthened challenged ladies...you just don't understand.
